Hope,
I saw ya mentioned not too long ago about the fact that these "critters" can jump, isn't that crazy!!!!!!....For a LONG time i've been trying to tell my roomie that they DO jump, and the faster ya swat em away, the more seem to come to help & the faster they respond.
They actually get really teed when ya deny them access to your mouth and nose,,,,,just for experiment sake, grab the blacklight, a friggin good-ars camera(if ya have it), and take your hand and swip the top of your head, and watch how fast they can move, but when ya swat at em is the best - just get mad and swat where ya know they are - a bunch will move at the same time to avoid ya - and then "feel" how fast you feel them come back, it's actually amazing how they seem to communicate sometimes.
I only say that because one time i was in the car and they were really being annoying because of the fact we were on the freeway going 85, with the windows all open, HAHAHA!!! Boy did that force them to regroup, sorta speak, because I Actually saw them move through the air with my own eyes, but as a group, rite from the top of my head they moved through the air. It kinda looked like shinny dots in the air, they were all moving about the exact same speed through the air as well.
In the end, they took refuge at the right side of my head, and in/behind the ear, and there were so many of them(i'm guessing about a good 40-50 at once, maybe more), my hearing level was actually cut by a small amount(i couldn't hear that well). To know this is pretty informative, at least I think. I have had this for so long, not taking ANY meds for them either.....if anyone should know, i should, and anyone else not ever touching Meds AT ALL. They Do move in groups. How many times have ya seen a single ant, all by his lonsome...and if ya did, don't worry, the clan isn't far.
I simply think that we really need to start paying attention to how they actually move around your body/home (jumping) and what their reason for communicating is. Are they using a frequency we are not used to hearing...although, I have read that when you're close to a swrm of them, they do make a high-pitch whining sound, and actually could darn near swear to God that I have hear them in the shower at times, it's like they're telling their friends i'm trying to throw em down the drain or something - because I hear the noise sometimes when I sorta kick water off of me and in the drain, not even a second later, it's like there's a lil' scream, maybe i'm nutts, HAHAHA, but just trying to find out. I have seen them on 2 occasions at least, this i'm sure of!!!!
