Hey Spec, bb, adapted and all, I moved, and, in the interim, had a little bloody accident (I mean that both in the British slang way and literal way). I must have had too many fibers in my brain that day because I failed to throw a broken martini glass in the garbage bin outside, so, it ultimately ended up in the leg of my son and eventually (after he pushed me over as I tried to apply pressure on his wound) in my leg. I got the worst of it. They (doctors) went back in the other day to reconnect a lot of stuff. It sure makes unpacking hard. In any case, I'm O.K. I have to admit though, I'm worried our suppressed immune systems (due to this incident) will make us venerable to the Moregellons monster again. Spec, I read somewhere you mentioned about someone who was doing a Penicillin & Diflucan routine for relief. First, what is Diflucan for? I'm doing a little pene myself right now. What can you tell me about this and where did you hear of it? Any threads I should read? Take care all, Linda

Gosh, good to hear from You Linda! I wondered where you were at. Picturing good things like a little vacation. Not a little one to the ER! Sorry for your bad booboo! Hope you atleast got some pain pills and one decent night of sleep out of them. I remember my son, about 11 or 12 dropped a glass salad plate and since he was walking around with it at the time, stepped right on it! $600.00 later, ...the glass had to go away for awhile. He is my accident prone Aires. Also likes to break things with his head (Aires the Ram). One day, I reach in the cupboard for a plate (melamine) and ask, why is there a big hole in the center of this plate??? So how is your little guy? And how do you like your new place? None of us know too much about this treatment for Lyme disease as yet, Patti found and posted an article on the Lyme Discussion board, called "Diflucan for Lyme". Dr. Schardt in Europe has treated about 80 patients, he himself used this method. He had been practically bedridden, but after 30 days of diflucan (antifungal) he was well. He now is active in sports so I guess he got much better from where he was at! He recommends Penicillin interspursed, rather than the tetracycline family. I have read there are 300 strains of Lyme disease, maybe some persons will do better with one treatment then another. There is no mention of lesions or morgellons in the article. I have also read recently that at some Lyme conference, they started talking about morgellons symptoms and practically the entire room full of "Lyme" people were all over it instantly. I bet there were atleast some then among his 80 patients so far. Have fun settling in, hope this turns out to be a good place for you . spec

Thanks Spec, I'll read Patti's article. When I started recovering from this last infection, I really felt I needed a change. Practical or not (and it really isn't) I ended-up buying a new house. It's nice, big, expensive, and scary (the expensive part). I had a job interview Monday (accident happened Sunday night) to pick-up some college writing classes to teach. Apparently they couldn't wait a few days for me to become more mobile because the classes they allotted for me they passed on to someone else. Morality and business (which is what institutions of higher learning really are) just don't mix in this country.
My son had stitches but he's recovering alright. I'm more worried about what is going on inside him. He's been displaying those pre-infection symptoms again.
It seems as if we always come back to some sort of bacteria with this disease. 600 strains of Lyme? I never knew that but that might explain why I don't get the muscle issues others get.
Talk more later, Linda

Hi Linda,
Not kidding about the institutions of higher learning.. do I have stories to tell, oh well it is a necessary evil. Glad you are feeling up to teaching classes! How impressive!
Yes, the many strains explains a lot, doesn't it?
Actually 300 identified in Europe and 100 in America. They probably overlap.
Then, we all have the fungus - feeding the bacteria. I'm sure bacteria breeds very well on fungus. I think this diflucan treatment holds a lot of promise, with or without the penicillin as you will read in the article.
Several weeks after I used the Praziquantel, large whitish patches seemed to kick up on the bony area at sides of knees. Was something eating this mini-surface infestation and what was it? Today I put some plain yogurt on the itching patches.. mmmm. feels pretty good.
So, I wonder did the Praziquantel (for blood flukes) kill something that was thriving on a fungus?
Good luck getting you both well, Linda.

Hi Linda. So sorry to hear of your accident, but glad to know you moved. Unfortunately it is a major step to reducing the battle with Morgellons.
Take care of yourself, the unpacking can wait!
