:'(I have sent an e-mail 2 times and no reply. Aug 4,2004, Yes a year ago, I was stung severly all over the front of my body. I was cutting grass and came into a nest in the ground of yellow jackets. I have been on steroids, antibiotics, water pills because my feet were swollen so bad that 2 months ago I had to go to the doctor with just the front of my shoe in a houseshoe. I am scared all over my legs, arms, couple on my belly and there are new ones all of the time. I changed doctors and he diagnosed me with it. They just don't heal and they hurt so bad. I haven't heard anyone complain about the pain. They start ot heal and then all of a sudden they get real sore and the ONLY way to stop it is to get whatever is in there out. It hurts alot but its the only way they will heal. These are the meds I'm taking:Avelox, Mepron 750MG/5M Sus,Septra, and a water pill. Those four meds cost 2 thousand dollars. The Mepron liquid alone cost 1.199.36. I have been on this for a month and I still have the same systems. I wish I could send some of the THINGS that come out of me somewhere and have them analyized to see if they are Morgellons related. Any one know ? Someone please write me back either on this site or my e-mail address. Monkey1952@yahoo.com My name is Nancy, I'm 53, and I am so stressed after a year of this pain and scaring. I live in Atoka Tn, which is about 25 miles North of Memphis. Please help.

You can view some of the results now. There are 3 pages currently viewable that I update at least once a day. I am gradually adding more and I think that the entire survey results will be viewable within 1 or 2 weeks. Here is a link to Page 1. There are links on that page to pages 2 & 3, home.comcast.net/~usp-db/ResultsPage01.htmJeff, about the results and Oregon: I am not sure what you mean exactly. In the survey there is a count of the number of people submitting surveys per state and an average per state of how long those people have had USP/Morgellons symptoms. If you are looking at the "POLL" results, there were 3 people from Oregon which was 8% of all the people doing the short poll. That poll has been closed for a while. There are still a lot of states that have no survey responses. If fact I think I'll add that to the results, a list of states that we haven't heard from yet. Alex

Thanks for doing this survey.
If I can find time between wiping off vinyl covers , looking for clothes, and trying to find places to sleep and bathe I will write a letter to a senator.....

To Jeff: "Weight & Morgellons" Hi Jeff, Yes, I too, have gained about 30 pounds in a short period of time. I have had Morgellons for almost 4 years, but the last year & a half began to gain a couple of pounds every few days. I have remained the same weight since I was in highschool. Range between 115 pounds and 118 pounds. Before pregnant with my son, now 31 years old, I was 118 pounds. I quit smoking & my weight peaked over 190 pounds. My son was 9 pounds & I lost a total of 15 pounds after his birth, including the weight of the baby. After homecoming with my son, I began to shed the pounds and shortly lost all but 15 pounds by my 6 week check up. Soon, back to 118, where I've remained consistantly for the last 31 years. Since Morgellons, I have gained 35 pounds, bought new clothes and now the new clothes are snug, so I guess I'm still porking up. God Bless, Jeff. Sincerely, flutterby

To Alisson and anyone else concerning display of survey results: I download new survey submissions, check for duplicates, errors, etc., and then upload the updated pages. I was doing this at least once a day until about a week ago when my computer's BIOS chip died and I only updated once a few days ago (directly from Excel on another machine, amazingly it worked perfectly!) and today (5 oct) I just got back online. I see a bunch more surveys came in since then so I will be updating right after this post. I will also resume adding pages to the results ASAP. I just noticed the graph for survey submissions on the 1st page of this thread isn't updated and it looks like nothing is happening, but I'll fix that right away. To Jeff, no, there is no question about weight on the survey. I am going to start a new survey soon with questions suggested by people taking the current survey. So I will add the weight question and some similar questions I thought might be relevant such as level of physical activity (do you work out, exercise enough to sweat...sweat enough to get toxins out of your skin) and environmental (are you a clean-freak or slob, on a scale 1 to 5) and hygiene (before/after onset, showers or baths? AM and/or PM or hourly or seasonally... J/K) and sun exposure i.e. avoid it or love it or ...? I know one thing we all have in common is that we all use computers and probably spend a lot of time there searching for help, thats how we found Lymebusters, etc. Could that time be better spent getting a healthy dose of solar radiation? I want to know what percentage if any, are outdoors for at least 2 to 3 hours a day or how much time per day is outside. I added the space for suggested questions after the survey was started so over 1/2 of the people didn't get a chance to use it. Since then, almost everyone has been suggesting questions. So if anyone has questions to add you can go to a special page I am about to create to submit them. Let's call it: home.comcast.net/~usp-db/NewQuestion.htmThanks all very much, Alex

I too have gained a significant amount of weight. 45 disgusting pounds. I am 53 years old and until my Morgellons seriously surfaced, I was a size six. This weight gain occurred in about 10 months. My doc told me that when I (my Morgellons) is under control, I will lose the weight very quickly. He also added that his cured patients looked as though they had complete face and body lifts and on average looked 15 to 20 years younger. That would be great, but I would gladly settle for just plain "Healthy".

I know for a fact Morgellons caused my weight gain. My first symtom was swellling in my privates, then I had an intense craving for white flour products. I would eat it constantly to keep from feeling confused. This went on for three years. Guess the parasites got what they needed. I read on parasites and they can cause whatever craving it is they need to survive.

i'v had this year for the past year and a half; im a nurse with a masters degree but do not currently practice in the medicine field due to a fall off of a ladder resulting in multiple surgeries; anyway, iv been studying this for the past year under a microscope and using a digital camera have taken more than 7000 pictures of both the threads, which are parasites actually, with pinchers or claws kinda like a crab lobster; i have observed these in the skin; how they live, multiply (reproduce), and especially how they spread under the skin; they are real, they multiply at a scary rate; you can have open sores which is good because at least you know particular areas where (what i call a nest) nests are; they live in what i believe to be layers, so that when one layers is gone; the skin looks better; but underneath that destroyed layer their are adult parasites doing well and reproducing which causes sores later; if you try to destroy the sores or nests they do get irritated (i know from having this myself) and i have observed under the microscope that indeed this seems to trigger the hatching of eggs within a few hours; iv also noticed water as a factor; after showering it seems to get pretty itchy and bites increase from under the skin which i also have my own theory on; so, even though skin is intact and no sores present there is activity going on from below (under the skin surface) and im not sure which layer of skin this occurs in because the skin iv studied is very atypical from normal skin and contains parasites structures (or as i previously mentioned i call them nests) which has converted the normal structure of the skin layers into something that suits the needs of these parasites; iv also kinda realized why when samples are taken to drs-strands-why they do not look like a parasite; most of them have the heads-end sections torn off-iv been studing this for the past few days in particular because i dont understand why drs dont see what i see under the microscope and if the specimans were obtained differently as i collect mine, these threads are very much with a head with claws and a end section as well as intestines, reproductive parts; i have seen the same threads on the internet; they are clear, sometimes blue, occassional reds, etc. and they are the same as mine except the heads are torn off; i plan to publish my findings in a book or in some format; this needs to be further researched by professional parasitologists as well as microbiologist; iv done my part as far as my education allows and would be very happy to discuss/share my pictures and findings with any professional that can actually further this research; there are certainly enough speciman sources from people infected with this parasite that im sure would love to share their threads with; anyway, iv just set this computer up and have so much problems getting my e-mail going; my phone# is 210-857-1271. leave me a message if youd like to talk to me or know of any professional that would like to collaborate with me and what iv found; i havent found the cure; but i believe with some of my findings that a cure could come about; any drug company would be great because they would have the funding for the research as well as being able to test medications and manufacture the med's for us and those in the future who contract this awful parasititic skin disease. i believe there are many more people infected with this than is known; iv had this for one and a half years and only a month ago with this computer found that others also have it; iv been to all the drs, dewormed at least 12 times with ivermectin as well as other meds' they dont work; i have not been tested for lymes disease but plan to ask my current physician to order this test; i have had a lot of exposure to the outdoors working with my horses, african boar goats and greaty pyrenees working dogs; i dont think this is contagious; however, i do think it is under certain circumstances as i have discovered working under the microscope; anyways-be strong-its gotta get better-have faith. linda,tx
