I have a tumor on my brain. It's called a Meningioma and is not INSIDE the brain so far as can be determined at this time. The Meninges cover the brain. I'm too tired and depressed to go into a lot of details, but the Meningioma is likely benign. It's size is two inches and it grows slowly. On Tuesday of next week I see the Cyber-Knife people affiliated with Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. I'll have an MRI probably with and without Contrast and someone will determine if the tumor can be killed using the Cyber-Knife procedure. I'm being referred to a Neurosurgeon who will do the surgery if it must be done soon. If I have surgery I'll be hospitalized a few days and should be pretty much recovered in two months time. Thankfully, my youngest son, his wife and two children are here with us as they sold their home and haven't purchased another one.
I hate posting this. It seems cold, cut and dried. Don't feel sorry for me as the news could be much worse.
To add to my misery I fell out of bed last night (having a nightmare) and hit my right ear on the marble top night stand and the ear is a bloody mess. I'll get a black eye out of it too.
Apparently I ended up on my left side which messed up my back too. Damn. Getting old is not for sissies.
Seeing my doctor at 3:00 for damage control.

Sidney,
My love and hugs to you! I believe the Lord works in mysterious ways. Not only were you able to find out about the meningioma, but the confirmed fungal infection from your sinus culture by your own doctor. Huge.
Cyber knife would be an ablation versus surgery to actually physically take it out. So a cyber knife procedure would then actually ablate the meningioma in which then your body would have to process it for destruction and removal.
Since Morgellons is most likely a state in which invoves the immune system, and fungal infections are definately considered a state of immune function, it is wonderful they have found both at the same time.
I know you think the world of your doc, and since the fungal infection was confirmed by his own sample, he will have to investigate prior to you having any surgery. Not necessarily a bad thing, given that it is a slow growing meningioma. And the fungal infection should be delineated between a local confined infection, versus systemic. As well as prior to any form of surgery, will need to be addressed and also, the testing of your immune functions.
I believe the testing of your immune functions will be your big hitter as proof of a systemic reaction. Since testing for systemic fungal infections is so incredibly lacking. It is these tests that will add to your case of systemic infection and/or effects.
Sid, you fell out of bed from a nightmare? I am sorry you were so badly hurt. Please be careful.
I know the stress is so incredible. Take a deep breath, and take the following days in small blocks. Time will go so slowly in regards to all this, but you are actually making huge leaps in getting back some of your health. You are strong, and you have tons of support here. One step at time dear friend.

so sorry to hear this sid, thankful it is not inside the brain and that 'it' can be removed. it would be awesome if fungal meds would reduce it, like the nurse who 'caught' leukemia and it went into remission when treating for secondary fungal infection. we are here for you and are with you in healing prayers. thank the Lord, it was found in time and because of your perservance with this damdable disease.

Sid, My love and hugs to you too! This is just awful news - but I know you're in GREAT hands with your doctors. I know the fear factor is there, it is with us all for you, but they can and WILL take care of this, and you can make it through with flying colors...because you are going to see the END and reason and cure of Morgellons - and not even this is going to get in the way of that. And that's a fact, as Frito pointed out basically that BECAUSE of your diligence with this mold, it sure is incredible how one step led to the next and the next! We must believe always (that there IS a reason for everything). And because of the (molds growing in your petri dishes) you took the next step to have the doc check it out, and the MRI and so on. Thank God for your doctor (being a REAL doctor with care and compassion) and knowing there are things that are beyond his recognition, and referring you onwards to other specialists. And last night, you poor thing, falling out of bed and hurting yourself like that. I think anyone would have a night and a half (nightmares and restlessness) after getting news as you did yesterday. We're here for you always....and you take it nice and easy and let your family there help as much as they can. You just get better.

Sid,
I am very sorry to hear this. As others have stated, you have a lot of strengths both personally and with the circumstances related to a supportive family and your wonderful physician. Add to that, the love we all have for you, and you are in a great position to whack this thing out of existence.
Prayers, calm energy and love coming your way.

Well doesn't this just suck. I don't think you sound cold. It sounds more like survival instinct. When a person has been bombarded with one thing after another, we can become almost immune to worrying about what ifs and maybes. We resign ourselves to practicalities and do what we know we have to do.
My mom completely recovered from brain aneurysm and everyday when I give my prayer of gratitude, I will say one for you. Kiki

Heartfelt gratitude to each of you for caring compassion and well wishes.
Right ear and side of face look like I've been hit up-side the head with a 2x4.
No seizure, just a nightmare. Will know more in a few days I hope. Still have to see the neurosurgeon sometime after seeing the cyber-Knife people.
Frito offered some good advice regarding perhaps getting the immune system where it should be along with many other helpful suggestions here and through phone visits.
The way this all came about is nothing short of a miracle. If I hadn't seen the ENT doc (also wonderful) and IF he hadn't set up the first CT Scan, I would never have known the tumor was present.
I am still basking in the blessing that the ENT's exploration into my sinuses resulted in CONFIRMING the presence of Cladosporium that the joy of that good news somewhat offsets the bad news - the presence of a tumor. In time the tumor would have grown much larger and started shoving my brain from left to right creating pressure, etc.
I ordered another twenty petri dishes recently. I am willing to mail most of them to someone else who would take on the responsibility of mailing them to people who ask for them.
This recent order of twenty more brought my total number of petri dishes ordered to one hundred. If anyone would like to volunteer to be the distributor of these Natural Link Mold Dishes I would be most appreciative.
I am hoping others will soon send their dishes in for culturing and am disappointed that so few of you have followed through.
Surely some of you have a doctor who would be willing to pluck some facial hairs, do some skin scrapings and send the dishes back to Natural Link Mold Lab.
Considering what I'm facing in the coming months I hope someone will volunteer to keep the dishes for distribution. Keep in mind they need to be refrigerated immediately until ready for use.
Hoping to hear from at least one volunteer who has the time to take this on. (this really needs to be in the mold thread)
Thanks to each of you for good wishes and prayers.

I have one, too, and have an MRI each year to keep track of it. It is so slow growing that the surgeon is feeling it may not cause enough problems to be real concerned about it. Mine, though, is only half as large as yours. Do they think yours is causing any symptoms for you? It's wonderful that they can treat it for you with the cyber knife. Mine is in too difficult a location for them to consider surgery unless it starts to grow. I'll be praying for you--and so many others here who are going through so much--like our Barb. P.S. I was under the impression that meningiomas are always benign? I may be mistaken...

Oh no Sid... how could I have missed this thread! I'm so sorry my beautiful friend and I'm praying for you as we speak... praying for God to light the way for your doctor. Altho to me you have an inner strength that abounds, I'm asking Him to give you additional strength, hope and faith. I'm gonna try and call you now...
I love you so much ~~ bannanny
P.S. If you want me to do the dishes for you I will... but remember I'll be gone pretty much the entire month of May and I live quite a ways from the post office! But if it's too difficult for anyone else to take the dishes for you, I will ok?

2.99, that was a great post!! Old fart? hahahaha!!! I love her too!!! It just occured to me, I have definately lost my sense of humor as of late. Sidney, I am confused still. I found something though that may shed some light. How can I get ahold of the CD? Heres the link. Violet, it's very comforting to actually know you have a Meningioma too, and I'm so sorry tl learn it's in a place that makes surgery out of the question. I'm relieved for you knowing yours is smallish.
I believe Meningiomas are approximately 99% benign.
Thank you for sharing and for your prayers.
Frito, thanks for thinking of me while we were with the Cyber-Knife doc today. She was wonderfully helpful, and we viewed the CD of my old brain and gave me a copy to view at home. I'm not so desperate for entertainment that I'll spend much time viewing it, but I guess I'll take a look again soon.
I wish I could send you the CD or DVD, not sure what it is, just a disk to me.
Ali, Brat, there is nothing wrong with being an old Fart. I actually consider it a compliment coming from a youngster such as yourself.
Bannanny, thank you for calling today and so sorry to have missed you. Bless your sweet and caring heart.
I'm very tired, as it was a rough day for sure, but we made it.
The decision has been made, but not set in stone until I see the neurosurgeon on May 28 (Damn! another month to wait) that I will have to have the thing surgically removed and followed with some radiation. How much I don't know, but possibly five.
Due to the location of the tumor and its size, and to actually see it, get a good path report, etc., it looks like surgery will be the order of the day.
The Cyber-Knife female M.D. was outstanding and believes the tumor has been growing at least a decade.
Since I'm been telling anyone who would listen for TWO YEARS there is something wrong, and with the current Cladosporium herbarum growing in my sinuses those involved will also be able to determine whether there's fungus/mold growing in the tumor.
More on all this as I know more, but heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your outstanding expressions of love and concern.
Much love to each of you.
Sid
