I used to post more. I think we all fall victim to frustration from having this malady and not being able to get rid of it. It's natural to want to research and find out what's wrong with yourself, and can be frustrating when you think your theory is going somewhere true and no one will listen. WHatever this infestation is caused by, one of its most extreme byproducts is the stress of enduring these attacks on our physical bodies. And the worst feeling of all is to go a few months symptom-free only to get infested again.
It just happened to me. I hadn't had any symptoms since before Thanksgiving, and this weekend, they came back and now I have the fibers in my nose, pustules on my shoulders and arms, itching, white pellets in my hair. I want to rage, and in that mood, it doesn't take much for someone to set me off. I think we all are that way to some degree. Human nature ican be adversely affected by stress and ill health. It's also human nature to take it out on each other. It's our lot to try and rise above our moods and not let someone else control our emotions.

When I discovered that site and those poor people, I couldn't stop reading. There were so many miserable people like us; but unlike us, they had no idea what it was or what it would do. They desperately seek medical help from sources unwilling to take them seriously, but rather preferring to name them (us) psycho without so much as the slightest examination.

The primary function of Orap is NOT for anxiety and I think by now everyone here knows not to take this drug. But sometimes one has to do what is necessary to function and get through the day, and anxiety medications are not as bad as what some people have used for this condition we have. How do you know that Jeff does not need anxiety meds? Having an anxiety disorder and being anxious due to illness are two different things. It's true your body becomes used to benzodiazepines but then, it also becomes used to insulin when you're a diabetic. You get through a situation the best you can and deal with any withdrawel effects later. Afterall, we might not even be around later to worry about it. Sorry, I believe in treating what's actually wrong with a person, not the doctor's copout of DoP. When they prescribe you anxiety meds, they are telling you you're nuts, that the sensations eating through your skin aren't really there. Well screw that sort of mentality. Treat the real symptoms, not the kneejerk BS quack half-azzed diagnosis. They prescribe Orap as an antipsychotic and it's also used for unresponsive tourrette's as a last resort. It's a bad chemcial for anytone to take.

What did he prescribe? If he prescribed Orap, DO NOT TAKE IT! It has more side effects than crack! It's very bad. It's irresponsible for that doctor to prescribe you anxiety meds because you don't need them. When you are ill, it's natural to experience a heightened degree of anxiety in order to propel you to do what it takes to get better. Anxiety drugs make you not care as much, make you lackadasical in your recovery. Just my 2 cents...

a healthy dose of skepticism is necessary to people afflicted with our scourge. I'm finally functional again though worse for the wear. It doesn't get as bad as it used to for a tleast a month between flareups. I see that as progress. Once, I was obsessed with researching this thing. I basically set up a lab at my house. Posted findings and images here. but it drove me mad. last summer was the equivalent of hell for me. I don't fear death because I've already felt like I was "wormfood." But my obsession with discovery of this organism was just as unhealthy as the beast itself. There is something to the whole "mind over matter" attitude when dealing with it. When your mind goes, your environment becomes even more unhealthy. I am thankful for those who post everything they find because the info filtering/processing aspect of discovery is important. But the best way to feel better is to do improve your health, diet etc. I don't drink much now and try to remain productive. I used to be cool and now I'm a square, but I feel better and I'm mentally better prepared to deal with the flareups. I am also glad to know that the majority of the medical industry has other motives as priorities above our health. Remember: 4 out of 5 doctors really suck, Good luck finding the one.
Still haven't found that name, but I'll post when I do. I realize the state health dept is a government agency, but it's not federal and these people were freaked out by the number of calls. And remember, in this instance, I think underlings are more advantageous than a director or manager. IMO

I am unable to locate it. I'm at a friend's house, so I'll look more when I get home, but I think the woman's name was Carolyn or Caroline? Something like that....sorry.

I actually called them and they told me about getting a ton of calls about "scabies that won't respond to treatment." When I got this, I thought it was scabies, too. But it never responded to treatment. So, I called the Dept. of Health. That's when I found out about the numerous calls they've received. I told the woman I spoke to I had some doctors' appointments scheduled and I'd get back to her. A couple of DoPs and a "you caught something from the dog" later, and I never called her back because I couldn't get a diagnosis.

If I can remember the doctor's name, I will PM it to you (we're not supposed to post doctors' names here). It was a miserable experience. The health dept here supposedly knows about this. They are bracing for the epidemic yet to come.

I've been to Southwest Medical Center. They told me I probably caught something from the dog. Waste of effing time.

I'd post something about how badly all this "in-fighting" looks to an outsider, but it would probably just get deleted. Oh--

PLEASE don't give ivermectin to a child! It's so bad for an adult liver, much less a child's! Ivermectin doesn't work, either. It was the first thing I tried.

I can't tell you how tripped out I got looking at my skin under a blacklight. It freaked me out. I stayed in the tub for hours afterward!

I don't think it is. It has some sort of nematoidal characteristics, but we've nuked ourselves with filariacides to no avail.

Another thing we tried to no avail. The stuff is terrible to breathe. It can cause your lungs to bleed. It is billions of tiny glass skeletons of diatoms which are similar to plankton.
