Just when you think you've got ALL the Demodex "under control", you find......you don't. I just want to throw a couple of things out here for thoughts and feedback (regarding the Demodex mites). In a couple of days (it will be a FULL moon) again. I've been feeling "ticklies"....like critters crawling on my face. It's ever so slight, but, it's there, and I know that feeling. It causes me to instantly get eyeballs in the back of my head. I'm starting to wonder (regarding only the mites) as I believe they're only along for the ride (since the host, me) now is providing an abundant food source - being that I secrete "more *stuff* than I should from my pores". I wonder..... (do mites become MORE ACTIVE, as in mating) just before a full moon? And then do the eggs hatching a couple of weeks later? (during the new moon)? Reason for asking that is, "the ticklies being SO consistent" with the lunar cycle, "new moons and full moon" of every month. Something I've "learned" hahaha - not that it's any thing profound, but...in the Demodex-land, it's sort of interesting in that this might pertain to us too! I remember talking with many people about the ticklies in their "skin of their face or scalps". What was odd about the ticklies in their faces, or scalps is that, when we tap on our skin, the tickly sensation stops right then. Did you know, that when Demodex mites are crawling around inside our pores, or on our faces mating, or if they're crawling across the microscope slide, that: IF you touch/tap your skin, they'll ALL play POSSUM. Oh yes, they play dead, just like other critters do! Isn't that sneaky of them. They ALL will stop moving. Now I understand why everytime I could feel the HORRID squirming inside my face, and thought it was a worm squirming around, (I'd tap on my face and ALL the squirming sensations stopped immediately). Now I see why. They just simply play dead like many other insects do.So, if you're experiencing ticklies....and then if you just "tap" on your scalp or skin and the ticklies go away for the moment...it might be these possum players, the D. mites.

15 min ago....Here's my buddy today, ugh....or so this mite thought since it had itself sunk into my face. This little sucker is in "it's matrix" trying to squirm itself out of the "casing" I call it. See that "gooey golden gunk"? That's the shedding and debris that accumulates in a hair follicle darn near overnight. I placed a hair next to it, so the size would be obvious of how tiny these suckers are. There's GAZILLIONS of them, and I could just scream, because there is not suppose to be SO many crawling critters, but I know I've got a grocery store of goodies for every mite, plus their neighbors in each pore on my body for them. They just don't quit.... Watch as I press that Demodex sucker out of it's house. tinypic.com/player.php?v=dm4c94&s=5I'm all over with it (trying to get it off of my needle) as it's so small and sticky. Notice how HUGE this Demodex mite house is. And when I press on it's "housing unit" watch the (TRIANGULAR) thing pop out! Those "triangular things" are what I was talking about sticking out of the pores back in 06. Is it part of the D. mites?

I finally got the demodex under control using tea tree oil. Since my face was looking like an open autopsy it took awhile before I could handle the pain of topicals. I started with tea tree oil mixed with aloe until there was some healing, after that I use it straight. Now I have my left eyebrow back. It was gone for a year and a half.
Also when there were 200 million demodex on my face there were areas that needed moisturizer but using any would be just feeding the little buggers more. Just a nightmare.
Now much of the crawly discomforting torture is gone but I still look bad but in a different way. Lately it's painful "plastic".
I don't know what to do.

Hi Absurdly, I can relate to the 200 mil demodex on the face. I'm sure sorry you went through that too, and very happy to hear (those guys aren't bothering you anymore) because you got em. YAY And that "plastic stuff", I don't think I've seen that 'yet'. Is it coming out of your skin? And, do you have any pics? Thanks.

I've only looked at this one so far: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUDFnlQlBqAwhich is an incredible video of this "growing". I can't wait to see the rest of your videos, they're excellent. I've got a couple questions, if I may? Your scope, what kind is that? And what do you have the magnification at, is it 800X in this video link of the "blood"? Thanks so much

Hi everyone- Toni, thank you for posting a working youtube link. I have an Amscope 150C-E,40X-1000X that I just got in March. store.amscope.com/m150c-e.html This scope came with 0 instructions and I'm confused about what magnification the videos are, among other things. lol I think they must be 250X. I really like the scope but my knowledge on using the software is low if not non-existent. I'm glad you "enjoyed" the absurdlywild videos. That's funny-you said absurdlywild. Isn't it though? I kinda get a stomach ache when I look at my pics and remember where this stuff is coming from!

Hi Absurdly, hehehe ;D Yes, the "absurdlywild" was so fitting for your video there, (the movements of the growth of your specimen). Excellent stuff you've got captured. Thank you so much also for the info on your scope. You did GREAT with video'ing, and I know what a pain too it must have been getting it all to work. I'm looking forwards to seeing the rest. Thank you.

Well, about the mites.... Earlier this morn, I did another mustard rub (on my face). And...from a pore by my nose, an itty bitty white thing came out. It was about the size of this dot ( . ). I knew it HAD to be something, so I looked under the scope. Lovely. Lots of them just in this " dot . " size speck. This is at 200X magnification. I know some of the ticklies are coming from "these guys"...because IF this many are in one ( dot . )..... can you imagine. These D. mites are moving VERY SLOWLY because they've been "mustardized", hehehehe - it's the least I could do for them. tinypic.com/player.php?v=orhw77&s=5Looks like I have the shakes going on, but, it's because I'm touching these mites under the scope at 200x magnification which is very hard to do. PS - Video's (below) my mite video are NOT mine. I only use this site to upload video's.

And here's my "pets" hahah ugh at 800X. You've gotta see these SUCKERS on these guys. Enlarge the video to get a good look, it's quite "ucky" haahahaha They're not staying still for the camera, hehehe which causes them to get out of focus, even though they're moving very slowly, (because they got a touch of the mustard). To do them in, I'll just put dry mustard and water on them (on myself)....as it seems that each time I STOP washing with that mixed into my shampoo, these suckers multiply like there's no tomorrow. Check them out (enlarge video too) for FULL effect - to the far right under the video is a blue X to enlarge this. tinypic.com/player.php?v=o57spu&s=5

One little guy crawled out of that "matrix gunk" they all were in. The rest didn't make it. Just to see how tiny these are, I put a hair next to him on the slide to compare. The video will go "white".....but that's only because I'm increasing the magnification. I'm in AWE over their "mouth parts".....they're horrid. This sucker reminds me of something decapitated, with a neck that has teeth. tinypic.com/player.php?v=ehg212&s=5

Hey toni- They're sooooooo cute, dancing in the mustard! Remember I had good results controlling the population using straight tea tree oil. I mostly saw the short ones-demodex brevis-but I never caught the action-I didn't have a camera-but I could feel them. Here's a picture I used as computer wallpaper during my worst times with them. I called it Dancing with Demodex. I found this pic on the net somewhere, I don't remember where. I added the disco color specks. I'm haywired.

Hi Absurdly,
hehehehe (perfect picture). And yes, aren't they the MOST horrid looking things. It's that loooooong bus end, (and the thoughts of how that lines up in the pores that totally make me cootied to the max to get them gone.
Yeah...those Brevis are tougher to rid, as they (I think) live deep in (the gland) whereas the folliculorum here are more surface suckers, as a matter of speaking, hahaha because they're down in the pores, but...not the gland, ugh... There goes the thoughts that goes with them again, hahaha
And thank you about the tea tree oil. Yes, that smell of that is hard to take, which is why I just put in dry mustard into a bit of shampoo, *no smell at all* - and use that for a total body wash. Then they stay under control.
But....when I dare to stop using the "mustard wash"....they come back.
