I have a proposed treatment that I am going to be the guinea pig for. I already know that Chemist disagrees with the ivermectin use, and with good reason, so please don't imitate this. I do recall a few month decrease in symptoms of about 20-40% when I tried one dose before. I was also away from home at that time, so it could have been the change of place as much as the meds. In any event, I'm going to fight this like I did the cancer - win or die – use everything I’ve got. I've simply reached the point that I know I'm getting nowhere, have had no life to speak of for two years, and can't take it anymore.
Here's what I'm thinking of doing - if anyone has suggestions or improvements, please feel free to help:
Baseline noneffective treatment:
Daily - warm shower in morning, freezing cold shower at night. Scrub entire body with Luffa sponge before the cold shower.
2 tablespoons coconut oil.
Weekly - scrub with permethrin (just to make darned sure there are no bug type critters hanging out on me reinfecting).
Diet somewhat high in garlic and onions.
Added treatment:
Starting day 1 minus 2 (next weekend - Friday) - dust house and furniture in diatomaceous earth.
Day 1 through end- nightly scrub skin with diatomaceous earth and leave on overnight.
Day 1 - start ivermectin standard dose. Use for three doses at standard intervals and reevaluate effectiveness.
Reason for waiting for antibiotics - (1) to analyze effectiveness of first dose of the ivermectin and of the diatomaceous earth on the black specs without regard to the lesions. Also, to see if reduction in black specs helps to reduce the numbers of lesions.
Day 7-21 - start tetracycline at dosage recommended by Chemist.
Reason for changes in antibiotics – Chemist reports significant improvement with only a few days of tetracycline. I want to knock as much of this out as possible with weaker guns, and evaluate whether this cheaper and less harmful antibiotic might work for some people. If something as simple and cheap as tetracycline can make our lives a lot better, we need to know that. Also, don't want to overuse and cause resistance to any one antibiotic that might help again in the future.
Day 22-27 – Six days of Zithro at maximum on-label dose.
Day 28-37 – Schwartz Protocol, as well as I can figure it out.
If anyone can help – I don’t have access to Septra/Bactrim or Avelox. Is there a source that has proven reliable at reasonable prices? Obviously, my doc won't write the script for my delusions.

I didn't even finish reading your post and had to respond. I sincerely believe we shouldn't exfoliate. Our bodies produce natural defenses on our skin that we remove when we exfoliate. I know you are trying to get them off of you, but oils would be better.
Baby your skin!
Using permethrin weekly will just keep your skin "hot".

I understand your point, but I tried oils before starting this, and they were no help at all, except for the black specs that seemed to get caught in the oil. I've been exfoliating for months, and it is therefore the baseline, whether it is good or bad. The key, I think, to testing the other stuff and evaluating results is to keep all other things equal.

I should have said "castor oil" and "oil or oregano". Those are the two I have had great success with. I even mixed the oil or orgeano with another oil to dilute it and put it all in my hair. As things came out of my hair with the oil and got on my neck I could feel them, like glass, but they went into my skin as I rubbed. Next time I will put something on my neck, like plastic, to catch them.
Also, have you tried an infra-red sauna. I can feel them dying when I am in there. I absolutely believe it is helping tremendously.

ditch the premethrin - it can cause skin issues that may even resemble the stinging if over-used. Castor does what the dae will but is a lot messier so don't bother with it. oil of oregano (dilute some in olive oil) is good for site specific problems.
hope you kick it's *ss Jeff; Tetra is working for me but I'll be running out in two days so time to see if my immune system is battle worthy!

PS - Mega dose with ester C from day one to boost your immune system. I think Linus Pauling used to take 10,000 mg a day!

Additional notes: After reading too much research, it seems that Zithro is only effective for lyme if it's combined with Symmetrel. Somthing about the ph necessary to ensure its effectiveness. I don't know if that applies to what I have or not, but I'm getting some just in case.
I've got a fairly cheap souce of infinite tetra, so if it proves as effective as with Chemist, I might abort the rest of this and pulse a very high dose tetra afterward,
Does anyone know if I'd be well or ill advised to take a fungicide prophylactically with this level of antibiotics?
Still can't find a source for Avelox. This could be a problem.
Chem, are you still having 95ish % effectiveness with the tetra? Please keep us updated, if you would.
Chem, when and how do you apply the dae, and how long do you keep it on?
When I start this thing, I'm going to start a daily journal here, so maybe people can help analyze the results, and we can figure out some things that definitely don't work, or hopefully work. One person does not a scientific study make, but I think we need detailed data badly, even if it's just anecdoctal.

I've had acid reflux problems with tetra in the past so don't go overboard and i take mine with food (tho no dairy or calcium) and yes, it's working for me - stingers are all but gone. Funny thing is the crawling has increased (when I don't use the dae) so it's like they're leaving. I put the dae in a Gold Bond body powder bottle so I don't get hassled at airports - LOL! That makes it easy to apply and I even mix in some gold bond too (menthol). You can leave it on as long as you want since it's inert. Try to avoid breathing the dust, especially if you have asthma.
Good Luck,
G

The process of exfoilation in itself is very important for skin health. You need to rid the skin of it's outer layer (dead skin cells) and accumilated toxins. It is the chemicals in products that can strip the skin of it's natural defense. Dry brushing (Dry Massage) has been used for hundreds of years. This is usually done before a shower. If your skin is lesion free this may be the way to go. ............... This article addresses acne and how the body in general detoxifies but stresses why skin brushing is important as a detoxification process. www.linkgrinder.com/articles/How_to_keep_your_skin_clean_by_brushing_and_keep_acne_away_6964_0_article.html .............. Ivermectin only kills larva, it doesn't kill adult worms. It also has been linked with leukemia--talk about cancer for the cure! Permethrin, when used in excess of 10+ times, has been linked to liver disease. Diatomaceous earth can cause bnreathing difficulties. Jeff, I thought you were the Spetra proponent. WHat happened? They came right back when you stopped, didn't they? That's what happened to me.

Hi Lucky Star, I think this is a completely different Jeff. Hello Jeff, I haven't used this myself, but one who had a severe strike of this, ditched his entire life, business, house and vehicle, did heal after a year. His name was Painter and I don't know where he went off too. I haven't tried this myself, yet, but he used Dead Sea Salts in the tub, which are high in Potassium, and was recently reading something as to why the potassium may have been a key. Sorry, I can't remember more details, but your need to treat the skin surface might be slaked by this approach. Also can't remember the name of the outfit, but the number is: 1-800-368-8811 and about the Vitamin C, many of us use a high dose along with a comparable amount of salt. You may want to look at www.lymephotos.com which tells some history, and some reasoning on why this approach may help. I can tell you the high dose of either alone is not anywhere near as helpful as the two together. We had a great couple threads on this, unfortunately they are off the system presently due to some gliche. Good luck, spec

First, a question -- I have also used the dead sea salts a couple times. It came to mind because I went to school in Israel many years ago. When you talk about the salts in conjunction with C, do you mean the external application of salt (like in a bath), or are you talking about ingesting high amounts?
FWIW, the dead sea salt baths for several hours at a time had mixed results - I felt a lot better, but it did not reduce the black specks or the numbers of sores following. In fact, the specks seemed to multiply slightly more in the subsequent days
Next, Lucky, you must be thinking of another Jeff. I never knew I took Septra before in my life, and I am not advocating a protocol, although I will experiment with what may be the best of everyone's, as noted above.
But I feel like a moron for not putting it together - I HAVE TAKEN *BACTRIM* BEFORE, POST-SURGICALLY in FEBRUARY, AND COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY I HAD ABOUT A WEEK OF REDUCED SYMPTOMS. The specks didn't diminish, but the amount of havoc they caused was not unbearable like it usually is - less stinging and itching. It came back gradually during the following week I was racking my brain at the time, going over all of the variations involved in minor surgery that might have stunned or reduced organisms in me, and never connected it to the two days of bactrim given to avoid post-surg infection.
I'm not sure whether this is a Eureka! moment, or a DUH! moment.

If you are fed up with the lack of attention being given to this illness like I am there is another way now that you can help. My site is up and running now at www.nondelusional.com. check it out and fill in the survey then submit a photo of one of your lesions with a short story about your ordeals with this disease. once enough are subbmitted then I will barage all state federal universities politicians with this site in order to shake them up and get into action. Sorry Ive been gone for a while and have not had a chance to answer many emails. Ive been moving and spare time has been very little. I will respond now however. Thanks again for helping out with your stories and photos. Ps I represent only myself and my girlfriend. thanks southcity

Southcity,
What great work! After seeing the pics on your front page, especially the dark bundles of filaments, I am more convinced that many of us have the same thing. I was starting to doubt that.
Any hints on treatment attemtps or failures that you can add to or subtract from my upcoming self-torture described above would be helpful, since I'm guessing you've tried a lot of things, too.

Chemist G: Where do you get the tetra to take internally? This is the multivalent silver (6), right, not the ionic or colloidal silver?
Thanks, Spunky

Jeff - the dead sea salts were used by Painter in his bath. The lymephotos.com place is the best place I know of to learn about why and how to use the combination of salt and Vitamin C, to be taken orally, throughout the day. Additionally, If you have Lyme disease, the salt in someway causes the little sucker to burst through osmotic pressure changes, according to one of the female members here, I think it was taratula, could have been Charley.. I hope they will repost that info because i think that post was lost. Once the bacteria level is controlled by antibiotics or by salt, or by whatever other means, Rife machines for one... then the other monsters are starved out and the lesions stop.. I believe this is the way the theory goes. but it sounds good to me. Spec ps. If you have itching as part of the problem, I hope you have learned about the enzyme products to add to the bath. One of them is Kleen Free enzyme available at: www.naturalginesis.comIf you can, order the gallon size it will be shipped so fast! It is useful in cleaning as well. The enzymes cause the larva of some bugs to advance into the next stage of development before they are ready to, and they can't survive. Some people use meat tenderizer. Being a dabbler, I experiment with cheap versions first when I can, so I went and got some of this at the grocery store first. Finding some relief, I then purchased the product from natural ginesis. You can use a quarter to a half cup in your hot bath and soak. What a relief! In my case, I will sometimes then notice that stuff keeps happening for awhile, so I do NOT do this when I am about for bed... OR.. I go ahead and DO use it, then refill the tub and add half a box of salt, any kind, and soak for awhile longer. Some other soaks people have used and that are recommended are borax, (like muleteem.. NOT boric acid of course), chlorine, baking soda, epsom salts, vinegar.. white or red, depending on what is the main course. Good luck and if I can be of any more help, please ask. spec

The only thing I'd point out is NOT to use chlorine or chlorox bleach in your bath! And these things seem to be affected by high pH chemicals like borax and ammonia so vinegar (acetic acid) shouldn't help. Thanks for the post! Chemist G PS - I also use Kleen Free but I think my company makes a cleaner with those enzymes so I may be getting them free now ;D

Thanks, Spunky Hi Spunky, By tetra, I mean tetracycline - I had some left over from an infection a while back. A friend in Canada swears by colloidal silver tho and I've heard success stories with that as well but have no experience with it. May give it a try if my tetracycline regimine doesn't pan out but so far so good. Best, Chemist G
