yeah I knew that Carrie, great minds think alike ;D Friskis out of the bag now! (As Anthill runs for the hills! ;D) Meooooow~! ;D Now back to this insurance crap Ive been dealing with theres a couple other lovely things i want to say about blue cross I take horomones from a compounding pharmacy my GYN prescribed and had a 10 dollar copay for scripts that they did pay on for several months and then i get a letter from them saying they are not going to pay for them anymore because I get it from a compounding pharmacy. So thats another 30 bucks out of my pocket every month, And i efuse to take sinthetic horomones made from horse urine, yes thats right Im not joking. Estrogen is made from pregnant mares urine and is inhumane on top of that. Also when you check out their plans it seems as if so many things are included but you have to click on"plan details" and you will find they really arent included until your yearly deductable is paid and that may only include generic. Its pretty misleading if you ask me and Im sure they know it Ok im done ranting on Blue cross! And Im on to a better plan hopefully

Well sorghum and feather me!--- Call me oblivious to what is going on here but this must be one of those conversations inside a conversation going on here I was under the impression that we were talking about my prowess and champion ship ability's at lapping up sorghum I mean after all I had sorghum on my eggs in a bonnet on Friday and in my oatmeal with some apples on Sunday Thinking all the time to myself while I was eating --that yes I am the best sorghum eating guy on the planet I was feeling kinda kindred spirit with little Jack Horner who stuck in his thumb and pulled out a plum and said what a good boy am I Now I am just confused and my eyes have become permanently crossed ruining any chance I might of had of having my face on the cover of GQ magazine now all my hopes and dreams have been dashed darn the bad luck ;D

You should not be forgiving of that ! Also, can someone tell me if I am wrong here but isn't it illegal for the new insurance company to adjust their rates depending pre-existing conditions if there has been NO time GAP in coverage - as Friskers did not have ?@!?!? !?!?!

Also wanted to say that I agree with Liatris that if rasing the insurance rates based on an existing condition must be wrong, if not..... it really should be a crime.

Ive been considering kaiser more and more but my reservations are losing my GYN whom I love. Shes a great blend of allopathic and natural medicine and always keeps up with the latest information and technology. On top of being open minded and thinking outside the box. Another consideration that has made my decision not to go with them is they did say in an emergancy they will cover another hospital bill and I do live very close to another hospital( only less than half a mile from me) ouside of kaiser.Theres (kaisers)is about 45 minutes away. So I called the hospital and asked if Kaiser really does cover the bill in emergancys and the woman told me yes they do BUT Anything they consider unnessesary the patient has to pay. I asked if that really happens and she said "yes, often" This isnt anything against Kaiser as they have a right to do this and protect themselves but I dont ever want to get stuck a bill they think is unnessasary . i once had to pay for a surgery out of pocket and had to take a bank loan out to pay for it and you wouldnt beleive all the charges ....like baby powder . vaseline, ect that were marked up a hundred times there true cost And all the drugs that I never remember and dont think i even recieved,This is how hospitals make there money I supose .And things like having a nurse massage my back that i never asked for but get charged for. My next plan is going with Atnea in maybe a couple months when I have more money coming in!

Friskers, I have Blue Cross Blue Shield for about three years now. With a five thousand dollar deduct. I am billed every two months $300. They pay most of my doctor visit, which is approx two hundred dollars every two months and then I have still owe the doctor a hundred fifty. I pay for the insurance on my own too. It is tough but I believe in our condition we need it. If the health insurance companies don't lighten up on the prices, we the people here in the U. S. may just go socialistic medicine. I wonder how all our arrogant doctors would like that. Pay back time. I don't really know much about insurance companies and myself would like to change but afraid of the "preexisting condition" slapped on me by any new company. Don't you just love reading all those policies and what they will and will not cover and how they word it so it is ever so evasive. I had implants years ago and the insurance company won't cover a host of things that would never consider related. God forbid I would get cancer of the breast. They would tell me it is related. Whatever. Socialist medicine sounds like the plan for the future here in the good ole USA. Let us know if you go on a new policy and how they treat you. ChicagoBonnie

Hi Bonnie Yes my brain is quite fried from reading so many policies !! And yes bluecross is very fussy about preexisting conditions!! I applied with Aetna today because my GYN and nearest hospital takes their plan. i will also have a 5,000 deductable but get this... my annual GYN will be paid for 100 percent they waive the deductable! I guess they finally realize its better to pay for preventative check up than to pay for a more serious surgery . Im thrilled about that! I called them and someone actually answered right away to answer a question I had (and didnt put me on hold for a half an hour like bluecross) another plus! They emailed me and wecolmed me to their family ;D Aint that sweet! im just waiting to get accepted and they did say they have the right to up my premium 25 to 50 percent while its in the underwriting process so not sure how it will go......as of right now I got a PPO plan 5 ,000 deductable at 169.00 a month. And 100 percent coverage after deductable is met Pretty reasonable I think! I was also able to have it start feb 15 so it give me a couple months to save my money. wish me luck!

Friskers that is great news and they pay for your gyn, fantastic. I don't even see the gyn cause he costs so blasted much. Last time I saw him is because my stomach hurt last year and he did the usual tests and charged me $150. and then i had to pay for blood testing. Then he told me to come back for check up. I was standing at the window to sign in and the receptionist asked me for my card and said it would be another hundred dollars. I said whatttttttttttttt, no way. She said yeah it was a hundred for a followup. I said, forget it, he should be doing it for free and I said no way, and thanked them and left without seeing him. I was disgusted. I have been going to him for almost twenty years and he was not about to nickle dime me to death. Screw him. Sorry, just venting. But I am totally pleased you are getting insurance at a decent price. Prayers to you. Save save save. ChicagoBonnie

Hey ah Ed I was just thinking about you, what a coincidence. You should come around here more often an bless us with your humor!! although Im the dense one now because I dont get the joke from you or Ant, must be a dude thing! ;D Anyways Bonnie yeah I know Docs can really charge a rediculios amount . My old derm had a scam where he was charging me 80 bucks just to write a script and took under 5 minutes , then he would make me come back every 4 months for a new script and another easy 80 bucks. I outsmarted him though and get my GYN to write it for 12 months and she does it for free. Plus she even will call back if I call her and not charge me there either Shes an angel ! ;D

Hi Friskers . Not meaning to offend but some people in this world out here dont have that problem cause we cant get insurance by working or other wise . Be grateful and pray for thos who are not insured and we thank you Moe I thought about that about halfway through the thread Moe, that theres lots of people here lmuch less fortunet than i. I thank God for my health and being able to work everday. And I am so sorry for you guys that are so sick you cant work. That just sucks But for people that cant afford health insurance please look into state or federal assistance , there are health progarams out there that help ones with low or no income . ive had to use thesystem a couple times in my life when things werent so good .When I was younger medi-cal paid 100 percent for an emergancy surgery i needed. Another time I got a mamogram frree of charge through county health servcices. In fact I saved this government link to see if I maybe could qualify www.mrmib.ca.gov/
