My state,WA has recently concocted the toughest laws in the country regarding prescribing pain drugs to persons with chronic pain. They set prescriptive abilities of doctors under great scrutiny and require that anybody recieving opiates for long term pain that is chronic see pain management specialists. They have also devised dosing reccomendations-and out of compliance doctors are scrutinized and fear losing their liscences. They have essentially taken the bulk of medicaid and medicare patients long stable on opiods off of them as doctors clinics dump patient for whom they can no longer prescribe. its awful and its more red tape and regulation at a time when people have less. It is terrible for patients who are in horrible pain unable to travel great distances to see these specialists they have also regulated the dosages from a govermental body rather than alllowing doctors to have true prescriptive authority... I now have an out of state doctor. They did this with little to no public input. And the rule applies to all patients not just medicaid/medicare. My prediction in the next 5 years is so goes WA-so goes the nation, state by state.

You know about antidepressants I think they should be an educated and personal choice. I actually believe people should have much more choice about what goes into their bodies or not. Especially since many of us cannot afford to go see doctors because the sytem is sick with the fraud of insurance companies and drug companies wnting more more more. It seems much could be done from home via a doctors visit over the internet w/lab tests faxed to a local lab. I think anorexic weight loss drugs and brain smart drugs should be available and that pain drugs should be available to people w/chronic pain w/out draining the coffers by creating a drug war that is feeding the prison industrial complex billions of dollars. Why cant we have a single payer system where we could consult w/herbalists and naturopaths and specialists of other varieties of our choosing. 65% of americans are overweight or obese because of the power of the food industry Sorry I will stop ranting...I do feel the the approach of our medical system (for lack of a better word) to shun us and put permanent black marks on our records which pretty much cause alll other doctors to shun us as being crazy. To be pawned off as a bunch of delusional freaks because the insurance companies punish doctors for honestly treating patients with complex, serious conditions while being given prescriptions for drugs that probably shorten our lifespans and make the world less colorful ..such as anti-psychotics ecetera is digusting. Morgellons patients and to a lesser extent lyme patients,MS patients ,Fibromyalgia patients, and chronic fatigue syndrome patients, gulf war patients, crohns, colitus we are people the powers that be ave decided don't deserve decent medical treatment to prolong our lifespans and improve our quality of life. Its just not right. Profit should not come before people. Mega corporations (insurance compnies, banks and the government are in bed together in the corparate state. Sick people, the middle class, the poor, the young, the old, and the disabled are getting a royal screwing as the corparate persons and a corrupt globalized government ship our money and jobs overseas. I love you all my Morgie friends-we should go campout by the CDC this summer till they cough up that study and rally support to go from there!!!!!sorry bout my typos lyme and morgs have made my spelling and grammer suck.

Bananny no fun at all with the back pain. Thinking of you and sending healing love and prayers.
Lynn just wanted to say i had back surgery ater breaking my back and it helped me to be mobile, i was starting to have trouble ambulating but it did also increase pain in back and legs. sometimes surgery is the right move and one must carefully weigh the costs and benefits.

if I get beyond my brain fogged laziness I will apply for the study tho I think he is only looking at topicals for treatment, u know cremes and such. After all i figure at no cost to me it can't hurt and may help. Does anyone know is this a phase 1,2 or 3 study? I thought there was more qualifying information for studies hmmm...

Yes the herbal is good because I think its less taxing on the body-maybe less herxing? If I could afford it I would do the IV but its just out of reach for me. Plus it sounds like IV works for lyme a good portion of the time but who knows if it would work for morg? I do think Cats Claw is helpful-I know it helped me some when I was on a great protocal. You go girl. Glad you have a good lyme doc to advise if need be

I didn't mean that its great to have Lyme... just that you are more likely to find a respectful doctor. Isnt it a strange time we are living in? I wonder if we will ever get any forward action with Morgellons disease. I am sorry you are dealing with lyme and co. my old lyme doctor said my lyme was advanced and she said it would be 3-8 yrs for antibiotics orally to work. She thought iv would be much more effective

Shared Delight so glad you got your lyme test back and it is positive. This will help you with some doctors in the future. Lyme and company sure is a tenacious but at least its more recognized than Morgs even if not by very much. It sure is a strrange disease. I hope that people with Morgs and people w/lyme can merge. If we had more numbers (i think) it would be more of a force to contend with.

Oh Lynne,
So sorry you are having such battles with pain and function. Its hard and frustrating to have to give up some of the everyday activities you love and enjoy. Pain sucks. You are a very strong and wonderful person. I am thinking of you and you are in my prayers, Namaste ibzahp
