JJ -
You make some very good points - nothing much is as it once was. DNA is God's blueprint, but man has re-invented that. All the chemicals that are in our air, water, land, homes....
I guess what I meant by "natural" is that it is something new & manmade, rather than crawling out of the jungles. (I am speaking here about both Dr. Staninger's view & Skizit's)
I sat at the beach on Florida's Gulf Coast today (Sunset Beach). The oil hasn't hit here yet, but when the wind is right (or wrong, I should say) you can smell it. What will happen to all the people who will have to live with inhaling this toxic air? I guess we'll know soon enough; many of the workers who have become sick have persistent rashes and blisters.

Andy -
Thank you for filling us in on your whereabouts! I see that you have continued to be a tireless researcher and activist! I was always impressedd with anything of yours that I had read, and am so glad that you are still around, though it is sad that you've had so many medical problems. I hope that you are not alone in Scotland, that you have made at least a few connections. Isolation can do terrible things to people. I am doing quite well, and have been for over 2 1/2 years. I only have the occasional tickle or feeling that a tiny ant may be walking on me; I scratch or rub it and it is gone. And some stings in my feet a few times a week. All things considered, I am extremely grateful, though I will never be the same. All the elements of my life are drawn on the canvas of Morgellons. It is always there, always in the background, always a consideration in every choice that I make. And there is a very deep sadness that nothing can touch. I wish the best for you, and hope that you can return to where you were when you first went to Scotland.

Bannanny -
Virtually everything this person is saying I have heard from Dr. Staninger, including the oil (petroleum) derivation. S/he also uses the word "technology" and makes it clear that it is not natural. I really have to think about all this, maybe send her a link to this thread & the videos. Amazing, really.

Andy -
Sorry to get off topic, but where have you been?? People have been trying to track you down for a couple of years, and were afraid that something may have happened to you!
What kind of format do you have in mind? Perhaps a chapter per person? It's not cheap to self-publish, and finding a publisher would be tough.

Re: the communication from Anna R. Key -
I, of course, can't verify anything and can only speculate. What I do know is that Anna is a real person using her real name. I have been in communication with her for a year and a half and have not encountered anything that would make me suspicious.
As this study was about Unexplained Dermopathy, I am fairly certain that the report that Anna gets will be the same as the one released. Specific patient data is always coded when the information is turned over for analysis, so it would not violate any patient confidentiality rights.
Time will tell how accurate this information is .... or if Dr. Selby changes his mind about when to release it once he reads it himself. Of course, this supposes that pristine procedures were used in conducting this study.

This is a very big deal. Scientists (Craig Venter's lab) have created life.
This story is all over the news today.

I just received an email from Anna R. Key, who was in the K-P study. Below are the contents (with her permission):
Hi There: I just got off the phone with Dr. Selby at Oakland Kaiser's research division. He said that within 2 weeks he will have the written scientific report. This report is based on the research they did here on us in Oakland so I am excited to read it. I will try to copy n paste it to you asap. Sincerely- Anna R Key

Kaiser was responsible for the collection of data and samples. In December of 2008, they turned everything over to the Army Lab. It appears that they did what they had to do and then turned it over to the BSC after about a year. That was six months ago.

Why, thank you all!
I had a great day, doing the things I like best - like playing golf with the new clubs my long-time companion got me for my birthday (even got a "Birthday Birdie")!
Then we had lamb at one of my favorite Greek restaurants on the water.
And Friskers - my health continues to be good - except for my 62 year old bones (Ruth)! What more could I ask for??
Loved the flowers!

Newsweek article appeared a few days ago... Adorable animals that can make you sick Sweet, adorable creatures can also be hosts to some nasty bugs. "Zoonotic diseases" are what scientists call illnesses that start in animals and then jump to humans. As many as 75 percent of newly emerging infectious diseases are zoonotic, and thanks to globalization, zoonoses that start in China, Africa, or Latin America can easily make their way to America. We're not saying you shouldn't coo at the following photos of (mostly) fuzzy, itty-bitty animals. Just respect their ability to cause a global health pandemic. I am posting this for a Morgie friend in Australia. She has been communicating with the producer for nearly a year, and hopes that others in Australia do as well:
60 Minutes (Australian Channel 9 network) is in the process of putting together a story on "Morgellons", to go to air on Australian Television some time this year.
Stephen Taylor (Producer) of 60 Minutes would like to hear from other sufferers in Australia.
Please write to Stephen at: sttaylor@nine.com.au

We used these two soaps at our most recent support group. After application, we waited 10-15 minutes and then observed with a 200X Eyeclops hooked up to a flat screen TV.
The woman who volunteered for the experiment "sprouted" - both fibers, and fiber balls with smaller, tightly wound fibers a slightly different color. In another area, she "grew" white "sticks" that stood straight up. Didn't see any goo or gel.
Dr. Reed had not actually seen something like this "in action" before, and is inviting a dermatologist she went to school with to the next meeting.
These "two soaps" are effective in coaxing M things out of the skin.

Researchers make artificial DNA with a nanowire inside (Nanowerk News) The DNA biomolecule, responsible in nature for storing hereditary information, is being used increasingly as a component in nanotechnology. One successful approach for producing functional nanostructures from DNA is to insert metal ions into an artificial DNA double helix, which serves as a framework. “If several metal ions are arranged next to each other in this way,” says Prof. Jens Müller from the Institute of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry at WWU, “a molecule is produced which incorporates, so to speak, a one-dimensional wire.” Together with researchers from the University of Zurich, his team has now produced an artificial DNA with a razor-thin “wire” inside, demonstrating in the process that the natural structure is preserved. The results of their research are presented in the current online edition of the prestigious magazine Nature Chemistry. Prof. Müller’s team replaced some of the so-called nucleobases, found inside each DNA spiral, with artificial components. “In the case of the DNA we have created, these artificial components are able to bind extremely tightly to silver ions,” says Prof. Müller. “As a result, we have succeeded in arranging three silver ions directly next to each other inside the spiral, like a string of pearls.” What’s special about the structure of the DNA helix, which was determined in collaboration with researchers at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Zurich, is the fact that the form of the spiral is hardly changed through the insertion of the metal ions. “Such information about the structure is enormously important for the further development of functionalized DNA,” comments Prof. Müller. Before the artificial DNA can be used in future as a nanowire or nanomagnet – or in analytics, e.g. to ascertain the existence of heavy metals in tap-water – further physical properties must first be examined in detail, now that the structure has been successfully clarified. Jens Müller has been Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the WWU Münster since 2008. Before that he was a beneficiary of the Emmy Noether Programme for outstanding junior research staff at universities. Since January 2010 he has also been heading a subproject in the Collaborative Research Centre 858 – “Synergistic Effects in Chemistry: From Additivity to Cooperativity”. www.nanowerk.com/news/newsid=14393.phpBessie

Some may remember Deanna Odom...she was interviewed by Newsweek in 2008. This is her website: ahealthyintent.com/ and there are links to the article there. To the point - she has been symptom-free for a few years, and believes that the controversial nanobacteria is responsible for M. One of the products she used/uses and sells is Calci-clear, which claims to break down the calcium envelope that protects the nanobac. She was (maybe still is?) working with the scientists who discovered it and went on to develop Calci-clear. At one time there was a test for it, but I don't know the status of that now. It was based out of Finland but I can't recall the details of it. As far as using the term "nano" - well, that is just stupid. What about the iPod by that name? The prefex "nano" refers only to size - one billionth of a meter - suffixes like "technology" or "particle" give a bit more information but is not definitive. As far as the term "nanotransformation", the closest I could find (other than the website) is an article discussing the transformation of nanoparticles: meetings.aps.org/Meeting/MAR10/Event/124343The term "nano-transformation" (hypenated) is used to describe a process and is not a patented or copyrighted brand name. I've posted many times about my experience with Dr. Staninger's treatment approach. I'm currently closing in on 2 1/2 years of (almost) complete remission/recovery. What remains is hardly noticeable - and honestly, if I hadn't been full-blown with this I probably wouldn't even notice the tiny tickle here & there....I have not had a lesion since 2007....
DoraIsabel has also posted her recovery repeatedly....she's longer into it than I am....
Running on office equipped with lots of technology & staff, doing research, and paying rent in a high-priced zip code in LA is not free. Her "fees" are a fraction of any other doctor treating this condition....we all know the names...

The Monthly Meeting of the Tampa Support Group will be this Sunday, April 11, at 2:00 p.m. It will be held at: the office of Dr. Cheryl Reed 2605 W Swann Ave Suite 100 Tampa, FL 33609
Two special guests with an interest in Morgellons will be in attendance - A veterinarian from the University of Florida, and a neuropsychologist. Toward the end of the meeting, we will have a conference call with one of the lead authors of important studies in this area. I hope everyone who can make it to this very important meeting will be there.
Thanks, Bessie

Sidney -
As I said, it was for Morgellons Disease, and documentation of such was provided by Dr. Staninger and Dr. Spencer.
I thought that Dora had posted it on LB last year, but when I looked through her posts the most recent was several months prior to the judgement (about a year ago). I intended to bump her post up. Then I saw on a blog today where Dora talks about the details of her SSDI judgement (which was in May of 2009), and she said that she had posted it here. So I don't know what happened there. In any case, I read the judgement and "Morgellons Disease" is very prominently discussed in it. "Dr. Staninger, a toxicologist" is also mentioned in it as her records were crucial to the judgement.
