"Mucus Slugs' bodies are made up mostly of water, and without a full-sized shell to retreat into, their soft tissues are prone to desiccationDesiccation Desiccation is the state of extreme dryness, or the process of extreme drying. A desiccant is a hygroscopic substance that induces or sustains such a state in its local vicinity in a moderately-well sealed container.... . They must generate protective mucus to survive. Many species are most active after rain. In drier conditions they hide in damp places under tree bark, fallen logs, rocks, and man-made structures such as planters and so forth, in order to help retain body moisture. Slugs produce two types of mucusMucus In vertebrates, mucus is a slippery secretion produced by, and covering, mucous membranes. It is a viscous colloid containing antiseptic enzymes and immunoglobulins that serves to protect Epithelium in the respiratory,... : one which is thin and watery, and another which is thick and sticky. Both kinds of mucus are hygroscopicHygroscopy Hygroscopy is the ability of a substance to attract water molecules from the surrounding Natural environment through either absorption or adsorption.... . The thin mucus is spread out from the centre of the foot to the edges, whereas the thick mucus spreads out from front to back. They also produce thick mucus which coats the whole body of the animal. [glow=red,2,300]The mucus secreted by the foot contains fibres [/glow]which help prevent the slug from slipping down vertical surfaces. The "slime trail" that a slug leaves behind it has some secondary effects: other slugs coming across a slime trail can recognize others of the same species, which is useful in preparation to mating. Following a slime trail is also a necessary part of the hunting behavior of some carnivorous predatory slugs." Excerpt from Absolute Astronomy site. Therefore, I must be producing the slime that is generated from front to back....because mine is always that thick, sticky slime. But the fibers!!! I always find fibers - you can actually see them - in the slime, but I thought they were just the "usual" fibers that we have. Now, I have a different location in which to search these fibers. If that is so, and the fibers are from a known terrestrial gastropod, then no wonder they didn't appear during any testing for fibers, i.e. cotton, etc. When my mucus slides dry out, they are hard like plastic, and have what I called 'strings', white in color, throughout. However, these 'strings' are not smooth, rather they have the same type of protrusions on them like gall roots!!! Interesting? ? I'm on the search! Get onboard, I think we have a trail to follow - notice I didn't say SLIME trail! ;D Love ya, ctbarb

OMG you girls (Barb and Lilsissy) I had to come in and see if anything new was happening, and WOWIE!!!!
Lilsissy, that pistol shrimp was wild! And thank you for all the findings too!
Barb, yes, (crackers and cheese/any kind) for some reason (it) doesn't like that-I find the same discomfort happens with me, but not in the chest, but stomach. If you can take an antacid ( I take Tagamet now daily and I'm fine. I hope you feel better.
I'll post your (pics you just sent in the morn) okay. And thank YOU.
Please look at some of the links I've posted, (regarding snails slime) and how the "volume of slime WILL increase with adding fluids/water etc"...and how slugs are "dictated by the gravity of earth too...maybe that's why the added activity during the moon cycles?
(Barb, hahahah *the slime trail*) ;D That was funny!

Gross as it is I am wondering if the cavities these first hide in could be the reason we see so many more female's with this affliction?
Jen
If you have ever checked the vaginal area with a scope you will see extensive clear fiber shoots.

Haven't been around so I got some catching up to do. What I'm curious about is... can these creatures live and produce inside the human body?
Here's what I can relate to...
The mucous possibly correlating to the gel that oozes out of me, which is also capable of elongating and turning into something as hard as glass. The info says a slugs mucous is something they produce to stay alive... which could be what's in the rivers of gel that run from my head to my toes in circles around themselves making it all the more difficult to remove.
Here's what I can't relate to...
These slugs don't correlate to the tubes and fibers that grew on the base of my scope from the gel that landed on it from my finger. I also can't see how these snails could create the feeling of a snake wrapping itself around your head. I don't see how they might produce electrical corkscrew sensations either.
But I just wanted to give you the pros and cons as to how I'm seeing it so far... not tryin to say there isn't something to it. They could very well be a part of this mess... and I think it's pretty interesting stuff too toni!

Toni - the slug specimenm & penny you gave as an example------ it's really curious. The last things coming out of my face seem so big, & I have pictures of two blobs, with stark black points coming out of their heads, I suppose. The two are identical, and look like unicorn horns are attached. I've never seen anything like it before. I can hardly wait for my brain to clear out so I canbe able to show you guys these pictures, instead of describing them.

Yes, Bananny, they can and do! I know this because I have all different sizes (generations) that come out of various orifices. I cough up the little ones, and some come out the nasal passages... I know it sounds gross, and it is, but we can't keep denying what is real! This is NOT just a fiber disease...that's for sure. Even Dr. Wymore has said that it is systemic, in his last post via Bessie. Why is it that most folks just can't wrap their heads around the fact that the stuff in our bodies are trying to get OUT not IN? Take a look at the invesitgation that is going on with the hotwater tanks..............these large organisms may have been in one of the very early stages in its lifecycle when it was in the tank, then when it reached the body, it matured...OR...in my case, I don't have a hotwater tank...slugs/snails live in the wettest areas available in our environment, therefore, where there is water, there are going to be slugs/snails. Logical, right? Anyone ever thought about the misters that are used in the fresh vegetable area of the grocery stores??? Everything is misted to keep it fresh........well, I HAVE FOUND A SLUG attached to a Romaine Lettuce bunch, removed it, and took it to the store manager. He acted like he was shocked, but then admitted that they can't get everything out of the veggies! Take a look next time you go to the supermarket - I know you won't find one everytime, but if you looked through every single thing displayed, you will find something that shouldn't even be there! The folks who put these veggies out, unpack the boxes and never even look at the produce in their hands...anything could get past them. NO manhandling the veggies, now! ;D I have been told to keep quiet about the fact that I had these large specimens coming out of my body....so as not to frighten others...well, that's not going to happen any longer! We NEED to know what is making us sick and killing us too! Perhaps I'm just the only one on the planet that have these creatures? I hope so in a way, then others won't have to feel the pain 24/7 of these things chomping away at their innards. But, if you have them too, please post the pix...we really need to know, and NOW rather than later! We are losing too many fine folks to this disease, and for what? So that whatever/whoever has inflicted this horrific disease upon us, gets a bonus this year??? I think NOT! Here I am, going on 11 years with this disease, and I'm still putting out the same things I did 11 years ago! What is wrong with this picture??? And let me tell you, it's certainly not for trying to get information...from the medical community...they just don't want to know! Why? First, they do not have a code and approval from the CDC or the insurance companies to charge this code for their services! Second, they are part of a large corporation where the patient gets "x" number of minutes - usually not more than 5 - and what can be solved in 5 minutes??? If they over expend their time limits, they are warned...this was told to me by a physician friend of mine...(in a totally different field). Too many long patient visits, and they are scrutinized every step of the way. And third, the physicians do not want to be the first to treat someone with an unknown disease such as ours...they are afraid of criticism by their peers and the corporate entities that they make the money for! No medical malpractice, equals no diagnosis or treatment for any and all diseases that are not expressly approved with a billing code!!! 'Nuff said? Now that these larger orgs are out of the closet, so to speak, if anyone else out there has them, please let us know. We don't have a billing code to answer for! We just want information and to compile the pix and information to prove that so many of us have them. I guess Robbie's passing has fired a renewed fervor to stop this nonsense...she did not die in vain, nor should we ever let that happen to anyone else on this planet! That beautiful soul was a tower of strength to many of us, she gave love freely and asked for nothing in return...a true angel, if there ever was one. I will miss her dearly. If not for yourself, do it for all of those precious souls that we have lost to this disease. Love & hugs, ctbarb

Ok, they can live in the body you say. But do you know that for a fact or are you saying it becuz you believe they're what's coming out of you? I'm not trying to be rude, but I've only seen flying ant parts in my case... I've never seen any kind of bug or snail come out of me before tho. I'll be looking at anything and everything that does when I get my scope, but I've never been able to identify a snail before. That's the reason I'm wondering, cuz yours are so easily identifiable. I wish everyone would say whether or not they have any type of bug coming out of their skin or not. It sure would help here.
Also, if whatever it is wants out of our bodies and not in, then why doesn't whatever it is just come out, instead of continually producing over and over again inside of the body? There's plenty of ways to come out if it wants to ya know?
What I'd really like to know is what all the glass-like wires and bright sparks are that run thru my carpeting and everything else in my house... same stuff that's comes out of me and off of me continuously. I know these things are created by this gel that oozes outta me... but what is the gel? Could it be the slime mucous of the slug and could it's slime create those kinds of things? It sure can be confusing to me!

bananny i have those white threads everywhere i have hair follicles. those are the ones that go ape-poop when i breath a hushed warm breath on them. they whip around and sort of coil - at that point, they look plenty alive. cool breath doesnt phase. here are a couple pics of what i think is the same stuff, just larger. the first picture is lights on, black light on. you can see where it is coming from different pores. when the pic is blown up, you can see like burrows under or on/through the scalp. the second pic is lights on, black light held much closer. the stuff is more visible and extreme. notice the profile on the second. you can see the stuff streaming out into air. it is really visible when the lights are off/black light. i believe it reaches out farther than we can see, like microscopically thin. quick note: i don't think it infects others through touch or everyone around me would have it too. the third pic is a repost, but it is a painting of the same stuff as i remembered it. my doctor saw this first hand. he said he never saw anything like it. then he sent me to the dermatologist - oh well... 1 2 3 someone asked if the slug got hard after it was dead? i think... but, yes it did get dried up and hard. even though it looked a whole lot like some of the slug pics, including suction bottom and a two fin tail, i am having a hard time believing it and they were slugs. slugs are disgusting. i used to live across the street from balboa park in san diego. when it would rain, my neighbors and i would play 'suicide snail'. we would each find a slug, and there were plenty on the sidewalk, and throw it into the middle of sixth avenue (busy traffic). the last snail to be crushed won. i know, kind of sick but it was fun. now, to think those slimy things are possibly, what?, made by my metabolism or something? talk about karma huh?

Dear Bananny, The slugs didn't come out of my skin, I cough up the little ones and the larger ones come out in my stool and sometimes from my nasal passages. They are so recognizable that it's hard not to know what they are! Some are alive, some not. I have some alive now, living in the fridge...I have bugs too...beetles and some type of wasp thing...I had one come out of my mouth (partly chewed), and another one in perfect condition, from under my skin on my arm. I still have the white spot where it came out...there was a hole, but it closed almost immediately! Damndest thing I ever saw! One minute it's there, and the next it's not! My husband was watching my arm to see if another one was coming out, and saw it disappear! He thought there was something wrong with his eyes! No kidding! I'll try and find the pix and have them posted. I must say that most of the best and biggest specimens are found in the stool. You just have to poke around (with a utensil of course), until you hit something resistant...then check it out. It's trial and error, but that's how you find them. It's disgusting I know, but I'm waaaaaay past disgusting! I use a plastic 5oz bathroom cup, half filled with water, and then I go "fishing" for specimens. When I find them, I immediately put them in the cup, when it's full enough, I get another cup with water in it. I swirl the stuff around in the 1st cup, then transfer them to the clean cup. This way, I can sort them and get a good look at them to know what to save and what not. I guess everyone has their own procedures and routine, but this one works best for me. I never thought I'd be doing this at my age, but I did it in the lab for years....but then I had an exhaust hood! Happy fishing! Hope you get your scope fixed soon...I miss my QX5 so much...but the dissecting scope is OK except you can't get the whole specimen in one shot. I hope I haven't given too much info here...but just sharing what I do, everyone is different and have different methods. Luv ya, ctbarb

I believe you Jen... thanks for answering my question! I think the slugs/snails are a co-infection with some people, altho I don't feel they are with me. Not yet anyway, but anything's possible. I'd have to get a specimen out of myself to prove they're residing in me.
I believe you too barb... I believe everything you say about what your body is expelling. I feel real bad for you too. You also have a much stronger stomach than I do... I doubt I'll be goin fishing in my tank! Just don't have it in me ya know? I can get plenty of the stuff that drives me insane tho, bein what's in me comes out of me, and either remains on me, or shoots off of me, therefore landing all around me. I should have the scope any day and I'll be lookin at the goop that comes out of my feet as soon as I do.
I'm so totally impressed with your pics ivanhole... totally. Even tho I didn't wanna see it as well as your pic shows with the black light, that's exactly what I do see. You see this the same way I do. I think it streams out into the air off of us too, where it shoots it's particles onto and into everything else around us.... where the process of contamination continues on. I also see the stuff reaching out farther than most can even imagine it doing. You probably already know what I think... I think this gel (whatever it is) along with the particles it produces, creates a network, meshing it's way in and out of everything in its path.
I have no idea what the reason is that some people aren't even aware of it tho. Could be they're simply resistant to it I suppose. That blows me away too, cuz it's so freakin intense to me. Again... I think your pics are really informative.

Lilsissy, thank you for that link. Here's what my understanding is about slugs/snails in regards to (their parasites and bacteria and fungi). The (snails and slugs) can harbor all kinds of parasites, and we then can become infected with the slugs parasites, and the algae, fungi, and bacteria they have, that too can infect us. Bannanny, as for "humans" getting slug infections....I've not read it (yet). But with Morgs, there's nothing to read as fact because this all is new too. At this point, I (imho) feel because of the weirdness of Morgellons, heck, I don't rule anything out, especially when we can see what we're seeing. There is a part of me, as I've been saying, that this all is so bizarre (Morgellons) that we can only know anything by what we're getting out of us, then go from there, and hope to find answers. Like Barbs specimens, matching mine, and many others, to date (I believe until we get our specimens analyzed) that will be the true tester (the bottom line) really of what these "specimens" really are. I do know that slugs (molluscs/gastropods) that there are over 100,000 different species. Some are as small as the head of a needle, and some are bigger than our hands. The range of slugs and the different species, from sea water to fresh water, to land, the varieties are enormous in each of those "fields". Science doesn't know about all the species, meaning that they openly admit they don't know all the behavior of all these different species. It was thought (by science) that ALL ( gastropods ) which is the slug and snail family, that they were all vegetarians UNTIL 2006. Then the (ghost slug) it's nick-name, was discovered. That particular slug wasn't even known till just a few years ago, and it's carnivorous. So that species blew the science theory out of the water that ALL slugs were vegetarians as they thought until 2006...because they are not. Not that the ghost slug is a human parasite, but it is carnivorous, and eats "meat", (earthworms). Because (they) don't know all about all the species, (WE) can only guess, and match pictures, because we are the ones who have the specimens to prove something IS the same that we all have, but what it is exactly ....still remains unknown. With our specimens too...we can 'match pictures' which is pitiful that WE are the one's having to do this... and not the doctors, because we are exhibiting SO MUCH of these things that come out of our skin, stools, etc, so it's sort of a "start" for us, because this is a major commonality, which is good, (but bad) but in finding a good base/foundation (meaning something in common) so many of us have the same things. So this is very good in that aspect which is critically important. The great thing is (we can see that we have what appears to be the same). So it's a GREAT lead for us. Heck we may be the ones that prove there are parasitic slugs....but at this point we don't know for certain...yet. And you'd asked if Gerties pics you posted (to me look like the snail darts)? IMHO, and that's all this answer is...to me, as I've scoped "hair" a thousand times, that is what those pics appear to me to be. And the 4th pic looks like a hair strand with the follicle. I'm only going by the pictures there that you've posted (and using the fine white fibers there as comparison) in size to the "hair strand". That is what I see all the time. The size of those white fine fibers are much finer than a human hair. I just (now) laid a hair of mine on the slide, which there was a white fiber there, so I'm only showing you this (as to me they look the same - mine and Gertie's) as a hair strand and a fiber. And I'm certainly no expert of course, cause it's only imho. www.devcan.Com/imagehost/uploads/3e34b54aaf.jpg

I really admire the work you're putting into this toni... it's good stuff too. You made alot of good points here and I sure appreciate all your explanations! I'm only trying to find out what I can too by asking questions. I'm certainly not closed minded as far as morgellons goes either. It could be anything and everything or one thing or two... we just don't know at this point like you said. But like you also said... the more commonalities we can find, the better place we're gonna be in as to finding the answers ourselves. I so wish the CDC would've done their study differently... like taking what we all have to offer and choosing some of us from these boards to examine samples from and to allow us to tell them what we know from our own experiences. But it didn't happen that way, so I feel like alot of us do here. We're gonna have to do this ourselves pretty much. But that's ok too... especially since we're the ones who truly understand what's happening to us. We ain't no dummies either... and our goal isn't to obtain anything other than getting well. That's weird about the "ghost slug"... well, kind of. Who knows what's being created out there with all the genetic modifications and mutating of this and that. What do they call it? Frankenscience? I'd say that sums it up pretty good. Unfortunately, we're having to pay for them playing God. It's pretty heartbreaking isn't it? Gertie already told me she figured no one saw anything in her pic, since no one replied. So I'm glad you took the time to answer her question anyway! It's hard when no one answers you... I know cuz it's happened to me before and it drives me crazy! So I just told her myself that I didn't see anything resembling a slug in her pics. I only thought the gel with the arrow tip on the end of the "hair" might possibly be a dart. I'm pretty sure that's what she was referring to as well, not the entire "hair" strand itself. She only asked me to ask you for her cuz she's having a hard time posting pics right now. She's got some excellent ones tho already with the new scope she got. We'll have to get some more of them posted cuz like all of our pics, they really tell alot. hugs ~~ bannanny

I totally agree Bannanny, and also like you said, our goal is to get better.
Isn't this unreal...us women and men here, and everyone's children, desperately, so desperately, torturously, day after day, hour after hour, having to pick things out of our skin, TRYING to SAVE ourselves, and having things that we've never seen before, unknown to us come out of our scalps, skin, poop, even coughing them up, and so many dying around us struggling to survive....and CDC BESTERDS aren't SCREAMING out answers for us?
You know...yesterday in the shower ( the place where my thoughts run rampant)....I was "just envisioning" this.
Can we and (them) imagine if there was no cure for simple scabies?
I mean I call scabies simple, because compared to Morgs, it would be a cake walk.
And can we and (them) imagine....people having to PHYSICALLY pick out the scabies mites?
I know if I heard that and I was a doctor, I'd take my summer vacation early just to pull other doctors together to help figure it out, cause I don't know HOW these doctors can continually turn a blind eye to what's going on.
People would say what a crime shame that is, that there are people HAVING to do this. It would sicken me to know people are hanging by a thread every day living such torture.
Tearing up their skin to dig out parasites, because they're itching them so intensly?
Yet WE the infected with Morgellons are going through, isn't JUST the incredible crawling and itching, and screaming and crying and scratching that a serious serious scabies infection without any treatment would be like.
Many are suffering near death torture every moment, with not only the external skin problems of having something crawling beneath the skin (as it feels like a thousand ants) but so many are trying to hang in one day at a time with the pain of every breath, every movement of their body....and yet - here we are, still without help.
I guess we just keep doing what we're doing and hope we hit on something that fits.

Boy did you say that well. It is a shame and I don't understand it either toni. None of what the CDC has done in regards to morgs makes sense to me at all. We've had nothin but a complete run around from them so far, and no... there isn't any fairness in that at all.
We're suffering... and we're dying too. But do they really even take notice? No, they don't... and I don't for the life of me, know how that can even be. All of what they HAVEN'T done only shows there's something much bigger (than even morgs itself is) that's taking place in this picture. That's become a given to me anyway... and I hate to even think what that picture might be.
So yeah, all we can do is what we're trying so desperately to do... and that's to find the answer no one else out there seems to want to give us. All we can do is keep trying and pray we can find it... and pray we can do it soon.
I love ya ~~ bannanny

toni, thanks for looking at the pics anyway; to me the tip looked strange, like a dart shaped, but I guess I am seeing things now too!!! I am laughing at myself because I think everything is related to this now. I will try and get a grip, but please don't hold me to it!!
bannanny, thanks for everything you little sweetheart. I appreciate you so much.
ivanhole, your picture was AMAZING. I am sorry; I only read thing here and there, so I am not familiar with what all you are experiencing and I am curious. Do you feel it just in your head or all over?
